Uncovering 2020

This past year has been filled with uncertainty and change. We all have been surrounded by fear and the unknown. 2020 seemed to be a horrible year from the outside.

I took a quick look at the inside and asked myself this question, “What happened within my own life in 2020?” I was surprised… to see all the good that has happened this year. I went month by month to help me remember what had happened. Even though I was stuck at home, I still had the opportunity to achieve amazing things. This has ignited a fire within me to make 2021 a memorable year that is filled with growth and change.

In a year full of chaos, there has been an incredible amount of growth within me. There were some things that I experienced that I never thought I would experience. The issues I experienced were related to balance, vision, ability to focus, feeling spacey, swaying, and some more. I would experience these issues all at once or singularly; it depended on the day. Two weeks definitely stood out and that was when I felt “drunk” even though I don’t drink. Through prayer, I was able to get relief.

During the year, I came to the conclusion that I would have to keep trying new things and stay close to God. In constantly reading the Bible, I found there was a joy within me. At the time, it seemed crazy to be possible. My world felt like it was falling apart, yet I was genuinely joyous. I am still amazed at the strength of the Holy Spirit. One of my favorite bible verses this year:

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

II Timothy 1:7 NKJV

2020 has brought lots of hard times, but has taught me the importance of staying close to God and knowing everything is going to work itself out. When challenges come my way now, I am quicker to react to whatever it is. It’s incredible to see how far I have come in such a short amount of time. By the end of 2020, I was feeling very excited for 2021. I didn’t know exactly where this excitement was coming from, but there is a momentum within my life that is increasing at a great speed.

As of right now 2021 is a year of becoming. I am actively trying new things and creating a healthy lifestyle. This year I am focusing on becoming the person I am meant to be through my daily habits. I want to have an ability to create habits that will transform the rest of my life. I am going to be working on a decent amount of self development, building this Uncovering Joy blog, and learning more about the brain and psychology.

There are a ton of exciting things happening in my life at the moment. I cannot wait to share what I am doing through this blog, so I can help you too! Here are some pictures from the past year. Excited to see what 2021 brings! Peace out 2020, its been good.

What are some of the lessons you have learned during 2020? What are you working to achieve within 2021? Share your thoughts in the comments! Let’s make 2021 a fantastic year đŸ™‚

Life is not easy, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it. I was born with a rare disease, Alpha Mannosidosis. It affects every cell in the body. I have been to plenty of doctors and have been able to do things that were never even thought of when I was diagnosed. It's simply because of receiving a life-changing bone marrow transplant at age 4.5 and continuing to push forward no matter the challenge. I am ready to help people and encourage anyone. We can't do this thing called "life" alone, we are better together! #AchieveTheImpossibleToday
