Life IS Worth Living

Have you ever thought to yourself that life isn’t worth all the hardships? You may or may not. I know I definetly have multiple times. I don’t understand why I personally had to go through so many meidical issues when I was a child. I still deal with some cognitive issues. I’ve learned that there is so much more to life than all the issues that I have personally faced and I believe that is true for you as well.

My dream in life is to create this environment where it is okay to be who you are and to find the person that is hiding on the inside. It should be okay to be an authentic person that is able to express your emotions. Life isn’t easy and we need each other to lean on.

Well known labels known as suicidal, happy, sad, excited, overwhelmed, energetic, angry, joyous, depressed, anxious, hopeful, worried, inspired… are just feelings. These are words that we use to describe how we are. Some of these are touchy subjects, but others are perfectly fine.

I’ve been all of those labels and still deal with them. They are honestly emotions majority of us feel. If you bring up that you are suicidal, anxious, or depressed people will in fact label you and possibly leave you. They do this because it is not the “norm”. But what if all these different emotions and feelings were meant in our lives to help us to learn how to conquer and become something we never thought would happen in a million years. What if we used these feelings to propel us into a future of hope and promise. What if we used these feelings to propel us into a future of not leaving one another. What if we used these feelings to propel us into a future of building each other up?

There are so many people living here on earth that, indeed go through all of these emotions. We need to stop the stigma. I’ve been dealing with depression/anxiety since at least my senior year in high school. There are good days and bad days. On the bad days I don’t know who to go to because of the society that we live in. On the good days it’s like nothing ever happened and I’m just living my best life. I get knocked down frequently and I’m fighting my own battles of learning how to overcome all the various stresses of the world.

I am constantly reminding myself that everything is happening for a reason and God has a plan for my whole life. I remind myself constantly that my goal in life is to create this place where it’s okay to express our feelings in creative ways and talk about what’s bothering us. I want to help the younger generation learn how to conquer the stresses of living in a fast paced ever changing world. I want to leave my mark.

If you are in crisis or think you may have an emergency, call your doctors or 911 immediately. If you are having suicidal thoughts, call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to talk to a skilled, trained counselor at a crisis center in your area at any time (National Suicide Prevention Lifeline). If you are located outside the United States, call your local emergency line immediately.

Life is not easy, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it. I was born with a rare disease, Alpha Mannosidosis. It affects every cell in the body. I have been to plenty of doctors and have been able to do things that were never even thought of when I was diagnosed. It's simply because of receiving a life-changing bone marrow transplant at age 4.5 and continuing to push forward no matter the challenge. I am ready to help people and encourage anyone. We can't do this thing called "life" alone, we are better together! #AchieveTheImpossibleToday
